We’re currently looking to recruit Full-Time and Part-Time Female Care Assistants to join our friendly, dedicated team supporting service users living in our residential care unit in the Hertford area of Hertfordshire.

📍 Work Location – Bircherley Court, Hertford

Bircherley Court is a modern residential care community, originally built in the 1970s and now beautifully redeveloped in the heart of Hertford town centre, close to local shops and amenities.

The scheme includes 58 renovated flats and 12 new apartments, alongside exceptional communal facilities such as:

  • Winter gardens and rooftop terrace 🌿
  • Internet suite and activity rooms 💻
  • Health & beauty suite and bathing rooms 💅
  • Two-storey lounge and meeting spaces ☕

The care support is delivered through the Flex Care model, which adapts to each individual’s needs, ensuring that every resident receives the right level of personalised care.

💷 Pay Rates

  • Mon–Fri: £12.77 per hour
  • Saturday: £13.02 per hour
  • Sunday: £13.02 per hour

⏰ Shift Patterns

Our services run 7 days a week, offering flexible shifts to suit your lifestyle:

  • Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 2:00/3:00 PM
  • Evening Shifts: 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM
  • Sleep-in / Waking Nights: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Job Description


🌟 Your Role as a Care Assistant

You’ll play a vital role in supporting our female service users to live independently, with dignity and confidence. No two days are the same — you’ll be making a difference both at home and within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting individuals with daily living and personal care
  • Promoting independence, dignity, and choice
  • Encouraging participation in hobbies and social activities
  • Providing companionship and emotional support
  • Assisting with meal preparation, household tasks, and medication
  • Supporting mobility and rehabilitation following hospital stays
