We are currently looking for compassionate Care Assistants to join our dedicated team at Parkside, a beautiful Extra Care housing scheme in Bishop's Stortford. Parkside is a vibrant community consisting of 24 self-contained flats for older people (aged 60+). It features gorgeous ground-floor gardens, Juliette balconies, a central dining room, a hairdressing salon, and a bustling communal lounge.

The best part about this role? You get to build incredible, consistent relationships with your clients in a warm community environment—all under one roof! No travelling door-to-door in the rain, no sitting in traffic, and no driving licence required. Just dedicated, high-quality care in a place that truly feels like home.

🕒 Flexible Shift Patterns Our on-site care team provides 24-hour support to keep our residents safe and independent. We offer flexible shifts between 7:30 AM and 10:00 PM, plus sleep-in/waking night shifts for emergency cover.

Job Description

💙 What You’ll Do Our Care Assistants are the extraordinary people who do the everyday things that mean so much. You’ll follow individual care plans to help our clients live safely and independently in their own spacious flats. No two days are the same, but your duties will include:

• 💧 Personal Care: Assisting with washing, bathing, dressing, toileting, and managing incontinence with the utmost dignity.
• 💊 Medication Support: Safe administration and reminders as per their care plans.
• 🏡 Practical Tasks: Helping with mealtimes, shopping, and light housework to keep their flats looking lovely.
• 🤝 Companionship & Community: Offering a listening ear, emotional support, and encouraging residents to make the most of the communal lounges and gardens!

Qualifications

💡 What You’ll Need You don’t need any social care experience to apply for this role. We’re much more interested in your heart! We will train you in everything else, provided you bring:

• ✅ A compassionate, empathetic, and resilient nature.
• ✅ Great communication skills and a willingness to learn as part of a close-knit team.
• ✅ The ability to adapt to curveballs and celebrate small, daily achievements.
